Watersports Fun for all the Family

A Devon Windsurf/Canoe Centre just outside Newton Abbot. This twelve acre fresh water lake is set in idyllic country park surroundings. You'll find modern centrally heated changing facilities and showers. It's a fantastic place to learn the basics of windsurfing and canoeing.

Currently there are sessions as follows:

* Beginners Taster Session - A four-hour lesson during which you'll learn basics. You'll start with a land based stimulator. By the end of the lesson you'll be able to sail and steer your board.

* Improvers Session - A three-hour course where you'll be taken a bit further than the basics. By the end of the session you'll be able to tack and gybe and sail your board wherever you choose on the lake.

* RYA Level One Course - Lasts about eight hours (You'll have two four-hour sessions). You'll be tested at the end of the course and hopefully pass your RYA level one certificate.

* Open Water Conversion Days - These are normally held on the Teign Estuary in October and are open to the students who have either completed the RYA level on course or have attended the basic taster course together with at least one improver session on the lake.
