Exmouth Festival 2006 is Go

The Exmouth Festival 2006 will be taking place over the May 26th-29th bank holiday weekend, featuring all the favourites including Crazy Umbrellas, Strawberry Jam and a Battle of the Bands competition, as well as a whole host of unique and inviting events.
Friday 26th May:
Schools Showcase! The very best of music from our local primary schools and the Exmouth Community College. From 5pm in the Manor Gardens.
Jazz Cruise! Sail up the Exe with the sound of the Mint Julep Jazz Band ringing in your ears. 7.30pm. Book tickets soon from Stuart Line cruises, on 01395 222144. £10.
Saturday 27th May:
Crazy Umbrella decorating workshop in the cafe quarter. 10.30 - 12.30. Followed by Punch and Judy throughout the afternoon.
Salsa Refresher. Mr Salsa goes over some basic salsa moves to get you in the groove for Duende on Monday lunchtime. 10.30 - 11.30am. Manor Gardens.
Kagemusha Taiko present a celebration of Taiko drumming. 1pm Manor Gardens.
Strawberry Jam. A cool, mellow afternoon of music from local singers and musicians. Bring your own cream tea. 2.30pm. Manor Gardens.
The Exe Factor. 8 young bands compete for one awesome prize. Doors open at 7.30pm. Tickets £3. Exmouth Pavilion.
The BibleCodeSundays. A remarkable blend of old and new Irish music. The future of celtic rock…8.45pm. Manor Gardens.
Sunday 28th May:
Sandsculpture Competition. Head down to the beach from 9.30am to see amazing art appear from the sand! If you’re interested in taking part, please call 01395 516551 for an application form. Judging will take place at 4pm. African Drum Workshop. With Peter Batty from Skin to Skin. 10.30am. Manor Gardens.
Skin to Skin. West African style drum and percussion music. 1pm. Manor Gardens.
The Teignmouth Jazz Machine. 2pm. Manor Gardens.
Alive & Kicking. 3pm. Manor Gardens.
Crazy Umbrella Jazz Parade with the City Steam Jazz Band. 5pm along the seafront.
Songs of Praise. 6pm. Manor Gardens.
City Steam Jazz Band. 8pm. Manor Gardens.
Monday 29th May:
Wild Encounters with Fire Springs storytellers. 10.30 - 12 noon. Manor Gardens.
Beginners Salsa workshop with Angus Peters!. noon. Manor Gardens.
Teddy Bear’s Picnic. From 1pm. Manor Gardens. Bring your Teddy dressed in one of 3 categories: Sporty Bears, Musical Bears or Pair Bears (famous couples).
Duende. Come and dance the afternoon away to Duende, a fantastic 7 piece latin band. Featuring Ian Andrews and friends with a salsa dance display. 1pm. Manor Gardens.
Playsongs. A special bit of programming for the under 5s. 3pm. Manor Gardens.
Dangerous Curves. 7pm. Manor Gardens.
Martin John Nicholls and the Pretty Good Band. 8pm. Manor Gardens.

Mixed Media Visual Art Exhibition at the Wesley Hall, Tower Street. Featuring work by Image8 and Pat Divisonali.
Exmouth Ceramic Group. 30th Annual Exhibition “CLAYWORKS”. Kennaway Centre, Victoria Road
