Colyton Goose Fayre

September 5, 2006, 12:14 pm

If you’re planning on being in the Colyton area during September, the Colyton Goose Fayre is one event not to be missed. Revived in 1980 under the leadership of Colin Pady, the Fayre has been held every year since then on the Saturday closest to Michaelmas.

Many villagers dress in authentic constumes, and the Fayre has many stalls selling produce, foods like beer, pancakes, tea and cakes, and lots of medieval trades are demonstrated. The day culminates in a mock Goose Auction.

You can find detailed information, and photos from 2005’s Fayre, on their website here: http://www.colyfordvillage.co.uk/goose.html
