Visitors to get more from museum

EXMOUTH Museum is being brought into the 21st century, and installing new electronic equipment to improve visitors’ enjoyment.

New display screens and an extended IT system are being installed, thanks to a grant from Exmouth Town Council and Devon County Council.

The Sheppard’s Row museum will also get a makeover - with a new lick of paint on the front of the building.

Michael Gerrish, from the Museum Management Committee, said: “Thanks to generous support from Devon County Council and Exmouth Town Council, we can now go ahead with plans.

“We are most grateful for this support, which encourages its volunteer personnel to continue to preserve the social history of this fascinating seaside town in its displays.”

Town and county councillor Eileen Wragg supported a grant from her discretionary fund at Devon County Council, from which an award of £600 was made, with Exmouth Town Council approving another £500.

Exmouth Museum is open Monday to Saturday mornings and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.
