EXMOUTH Museum is to have state-of-the-art copying equipment that will improve efforts to preserve the town’s historical records.
Exmouth councillor Eileen Wragg has donated £600 from her county council committee fund to pay for a much-needed scanner-printer for the museum.
Once the new copying equipment is in place, the museum will be better able to document, distribute and archive historical records and artefacts.
Museum visitors will also be able to copy information for their own use.
Michael Gerrish, museum vice-chairman, said the new equipment would offer a better service and be for the good of Exmouth.
“We want to allow ourselves more facilities for a more modern approach to record keeping and for the people who ask us for copies of things,” said Mr Gerrish. “It’s something we wanted, but weren’t able to have with the money we had in the coffers.
