CELEBRITY botanist and eco-warrior David Bellamy is returning to Sandy Bay to lead a series of events promoting the environment.
TV’s famous Jolly Green Giant will return to Devon Cliffs Holiday Park for the first time in three years to lead a rock pool ramble on the beach and highlight the park’s green credentials on Friday, June 20.
The Big Green Festival is taking place at all 35 Haven Holiday Parks around the country - and other events for the festival at Haven’s flagship resort include a wildlife photography competition, nature walks and other activities linked to local wildlife.
John Ball, environment manager at Devon Cliffs Holiday Park, said: “Friday, June 20, is the start of our Big Green Weekend at all the Haven holiday parks around the country and it is great David Bellamy will be here at Devon Cliffs to kick off the whole event.
“He knows a lot about the Devon coastline and is always a fascinating speaker so the rock pool ramble should be quite a treat.
“He’s been to Devon Cliffs before and he does take an interest in what we are doing here so I’m very much looking forward to bringing him up to date with some of our more recent environmental efforts.”
The fun begins at 11am on Friday, June 20, and anyone interested in going along should meet at the Beachcomber Restaurant at Sandy Bay.
