First Flower Festival For 25 Years

June 27, 2008, 9:50 am

MORE than 30 floral displays will be on show at the Cotleigh Flower Festival.

It will be the first time in 25 years that St Michael’s Church has hosted such a festival and it is drawing on the experience of neighbouring villages.

The 35 displays will be in the church and churchyard and have all been created by a team from Cotleigh and surrounding villages, with many being sponsored by businesses in the area.

The theme of the festival is Our Church in the Heart of the Community and involves contributions from clubs and societies, together with a history of the church in flowers, celebrating events and people including baptisms weddings, vicars, bell ringers and choristers.

The event opens on Friday, June 27, between noon and 5pm, and runs throughout the weekend.

On Saturday, it is open between 11am and 5pm and Sunday between noon and 5pm.
